Piano is the grandest of instruments.
If you’re a solo player, you know this already. Keyboards are fine for travel. But nothing plays like the real thing.
Our "real thing" is a 6'3" Estonia parlor grand. Benjie found it the old-fashioned way – he kept playing and playing pianos until he found one that made him say "ooh." We hope it has the same effect on you.
Backthird Audio is the only Aurora-area recording studio with a grand piano – and one of only a handful in the Chicago suburbs. We tune our piano regularly, and you do not pay an extra fee to record with it. A baby this pretty ought to be played with often.
That just what a lot of area pianists have done. We record albums for professional performers, auditions for burgeoning players, and family keepsakes for new piano students. We also host student piano recitals – and, if you wish, record them for parents to take home.
Most solo piano recordings can be completed in a single visit to the studio, but longer projects - or those involving a band or large ensemble - may benefit from our project approach.
