What does “happy made easy” actually look like? Try DJ BRIANNA HOWARD. Brianna worked as an Assistant DJ with Backthird for almost two years, building her experience and expertise, before becoming certified to lead her own events. During that time she developed a personal style that is easygoing and friendly – yet thoroughly professional.

“I’ve always had a great love for music, and in social settings I’m often the life of the party,” Brianna says. “What drew me to DJing was the chance to create amazing, long-lasting memoreis for others while still having a great time myself!”

That passion translates to Brianna’s work at events, where she’s usually an ideal fit for clients who want an expert they can rely on – without making the wedding overly formal or spending too much time on the microphone. Brianna’s style is to keep it simple and professional through your cocktail and dinner time, then crank up the party when it’s time to dance.

“I love spinning guilty-pleasure hits that get all ages on the dance floor,” Brianna says. While every Backthird DJ is familiar with all kinds of dance music, her personal favorites are the Motown era, 90s dance classics and current club and radio hits. “When I’m planning your music in advance, I have a pretty traditional approach,” she says. “But on the day of the party, I’m making changes and choices based on the crowd’s energy moment to moment.”

Brianna is also finishing a Master’s degree in marketing. When she’s not studying or filling dance floors, she loves writing and performing spoken-word poetry, playing chess and sudoku, and attending concerts and parties all over Chicago.
