DJ Ethan Dean
“I love all sorts of music,” Ethan says. “But what really drew me to DJing is the people. I majored in intercultural studies in college, so my passion is meeting new people and discovering how we’re all different – as well as what brings us together.”
There’s no better place to practice that than at your wedding, where loved ones of all ages, tastes and cultures come together to celebrate the same thing. For Ethan, that often means customizing events and announcements for a blend of the traditional with the more modern or personal.
And then there’s the music. “I’m a musician through and through,” says Ethan, who plays both piano and guitar. “So I love discovering new songs and interesting mixes – but some of my favorites are the classics of Motown and funk. Those songs are building blocks to much of the music we have today, yet somehow they’ve remained timeless.”
When he’s not playing music, Ethan is seeking out the perfect cup of coffee – or looking for interesting chances to travel and serve in areas of global need. In early 2015 he spent two weeks in Africa, helping fundraising efforts to support local orphanages through Venture Corps.
