I’ve got your wedding music ideas right here.
Every weekend, Backthird DJs are all over the Chicago area, filling dance floors of all sizes. And every Monday, I ask them a question: Which songs killed it on your wedding dance floors this weekend?

Here’s how our Chicago area wedding DJs answered me last month, September 2016.

First, a few disclaimers:

  • This list is totally NOT scientific. If you want to know which songs are stastically popular across the country, there are plenty of other places to look. There are just our DJs’ memories of what happened with one particular group of guests at one particular event over the last few weeks. And what happened was, those guests went crazy on the dance floor.
  • It’s not just what you play; it’s also when you play it. Most of the songs below are listed in SETS – they’re batches of several tunes our DJs played in a particular order that got a great result. Some of these songs might be terrible with a different crowd – or even with the same crowd, played at a different time of night. That’s what makes DJs are better than jukeboxes: They’ve learned to take your requests, read your dance floor, and then put your music in the right context to cause an outbreak of dance fever.

It takes three things to make a party: A great group of guests, a great request list, and a great DJ.

And judging by the list below, a little *NSYNC doesn’t hurt either…
